Hi Everyone,

We’re back with the second edition of Expert Talks in Gurgaon.
Please join us on 24th Oct 2026, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Co-Works - Building no, 10 A, DLF Cyber City, DLF Phase 2, Sector 24, Gurugram, Haryana 122002
Agenda :
1. Welcome & Intros (10 mins)
2. Talk 1: Varun Bansal
Topic: What AI makes easy, what it doesn't, and the part nobody tells you about.

Description:
For most of my career I have shipped other people's products - as an engineer, then a product manager, then a delivery lead. And for most of that time I carried ideas of my own that went nowhere, because every one of them died in the same place: the moment I had to build it myself.
Then, in a few weeks and for almost no money, I did.
Byteforce was a live marketplace for AI agents - a real product on the open internet, with profiles, listings, a payments-style wallet and a working directory, assembled almost entirely by AI, by someone who still cannot really code. Two months later, I shut it down.
This is not a product demo and it is not an AI hype talk. It is an honest field report on an experiment. I set out to test the promise everyone is selling right now - that AI lets anyone build anything, for free. That promise is true. And it turned out to be the least important thing I learned.
Because a working product with no users is not a company. It is a very well-engineered diary. AI collapsed the cost of building to near zero and did nothing, nothing - for the cost of being noticed. Every problem that actually killed Byteforce was a human one: finding the first user, talking about the thing in public, earning a stranger's attention when nobody is looking for you. The part AI made easy was never the part that mattered most.
I will put the real numbers on screen - what it cost, who showed up, how many agents were ever hired — and I will be specific about where I went wrong. The takeaway is not “do not try.” It is the opposite. The whole experiment cost me a domain name and some evenings, and it taught me the hardest lesson in building a company - the one most people only learn after they have quit their job and spent their savings. When building gets cheap, the scarce skill is not building. It is judgement, and the patience to be heard.

3. Tea Break

  1. Talk 2: Lalit Kumar Agarwal
    Topic: Intelligent Use of AI

Description:
Artificial intelligence is changing how we write code, solve problems, analyze information, and get work done. But as AI becomes better at producing answers, a new professional risk is emerging: outsourcing the thinking that makes us effective. This talk explores how software engineers and corporate professionals can use AI as an accelerator without becoming dependent on it.
The session looks at why fundamentals matter more, not less, in an AI-first world; how judgment becomes the differentiating skill when everyone has access to similar AI tools; and how to tell the difference between AI augmenting your capability and replacing it. Through practical engineering examples, audience interaction, and simple frameworks, attendees will learn when to delegate to AI, when to collaborate with it, and when to think first.

About the Speakers:
Varun Bansal: Varun has played a variety of roles across the spectrum across engineering, product and delivery leadership - much of it in healthcare, payments and fintech. His recent interest is the practical reality of building with AI: what it genuinely makes easy, where it quietly fails you, and why judgement and distribution matter more, not less, when building stops being the expensive part.

Lalit Kumar Agarwal: Lalit Agarwal is a Lead Consultant at Equal Experts with around 15 years of experience in technology and software engineering. He has extensive experience in software development and architecture, and in helping engineering teams adopt AI practices to enhance productivity and effectiveness. Lalit is passionate about the practical application of AI in software development and believes in using AI thoughtfully.
