About us

ExpLORE is a field-trip group for the curious minds out there drawn to experience the historic, haunted, liminal, raw, and strange sites in the Pacific Northwest.

We explore old-growth forests, ghost towns, energetically charged landscapes, and sites where history, nature, and mystery overlap. We do our best to schedule these events during a celestially significant time - during an equinox, meteor shower, or eclipse so there is something everyone can enjoy. We are also practical - many events are scheduled during government/bank holidays so more people might be able to attend.

These outings are a chance to slow down and pay attention. Immerse yourself in a place and experience it - whether that place is ecological, historical, cultural, or hard to put into words. Expect respectful exploration (no trespassing), thoughtful conversation, and a sense of adventure. Some trips will lean creepy, some deeply peaceful, others awe-inducing... but all are rooted in curiosity, care for place, and a love of the Northwest’s wilder edges.

If you’re drawn to forgotten paths, places time plays around in, and landscapes that spark questions rather than answers, you’ll fit right in. Please come out and enjoy our spaces!

This group is formally known as The History of Magic. We've reshaped it into a field trip group to better serve the needs of the members of LORE League of Occult Research & Education.
