Winter Hike @ Allegan SGA - Swan Creek - South Loop Trail (5.8 miles)
Details
Hike Allegan SGA (State Game Area) - Swan Creek South Loop Trail - 5.8miles.
We will hike the South Swan Creek Loop trail. It is about 5.8 miles long.
This hike is an adventure. They are calling for upper 30's and lower 40's all week. Hopefully all of the snow and ice will be gone. I would bring Yak track's just in case.
We will meet at the trail head parking lot on 118th avenue just west of the bridge over Swan Creek (or just east of the Park Headquarters.)
The South Loop Trail is the much more scenic route of the 2, where a 5.8-mile loop skirts Swan Creek Pond and then the creek to 116th Avenue. Although the area is not hilly, the trail follow the base of a river bluff at times and contain a surprising amount of up-and-down hiking. They also pass a number of marshes.
After the hike, we will head to Root's Café in Fennville for a drink/bite.
This is a great hike. I hope you can make it.
