Sporadic Sunday potluck at Andreas house - gate code #6087

This will be a cross-post with other groups I belong to.

Sunday mornings I often volunteer at a homeless shelter downtown at Z Mansion on Church St, where we go at 7:00 AM, chop veggies for a few hours and then serve lunch in the courtyard to somewhere between 100-200 people. It's a really pleasant way to hang out with other people in a low-stress interaction where you can talk if you want or not, and you can meet and talk with other people you might never otherwise meet or talk to.

So, I figured I'd try to do something similar with some of the groups that I belong to. This event will be at my house which is near Catalina Highway and Tanque Verde. I'll have chips and salsa and beverages - lemonade and juices. I'll also have cutting boards and some kitchen utensils for us to chop our own veggies to make soup or a side dish or whatever and I'll probably have a main dish as well.

If I get really ambitious I'll make some Pennsylvania Shoo Fly pie and I'll have some Pa Dutch pretzel mix.

I have activities if people want - Mad Libs, the Book of Questions, some games, and afterwards if people want we can walk around the neighborhood or over to Woodland Rd which is a road nearby with a number of horse farms and some pot-bellied bigs and sheep, etc.

This is an experiment so we'll see how it goes. but hopefully it's a low pressure way to allow for in person interaction with other interesting people. s
