According to the United Nations, a third of the food produced for human consumption each year worldwide is lost or wasted. Much of it ends up in landfills, where it releases methane into the atmosphere as it decomposes and ends up contributing 8 per cent of the world’s greenhouse-gas emissions. Not only that! We are also burning up many of the planet’s resources making food that doesn’t even get consumed.

At Little Creatures, we believe it’s the little things that make a difference. We’ve been mindful of our impact on the environment and in the communities where we live. We have done our bit to positively contribute in small but meaningful ways.

For us, partnering up with Hong Kong Community Composting to compost our brewery’s spent grain, and brewing our Forgotten Toast beer, are a couple of novel solutions for turning our craft brewery’s waste into natural fertilizers and reducing food waste, alongside educating consumers and raising awareness on the impact of food waste in today’s world.
