Day Stuff #57 - Between Skin and Shirt & The Breathing Sea

Details
The National Library has two exciting exhibitions. Let's go and see them! This event is led by Sarah, and is aimed at budding photographers.
Between Skin and Shirt: The Photographic Portraits of William Harding
The photographic portraits William Harding took in his Whanganui studio from the 1850s to the 1880s come to us with such startling immediacy that we find ourselves looking, it seems, at someone we might know.
The portraits in this exhibition have been selected from the nationally significant Harding collection of over 6,500 glass-plate negatives held by the Alexander Turnbull Library.
The Breathing Sea: Three Short Films
While we're at the National Library, we might as well see three artistic responses to the global effects of climate change that will be playing. The films explore vulnerability and the resilience of island nations, and their people.
The three films will be on display throughout the day. Entry is free.
