South Mountain Sunset: Dobbins Lookout

Let's photograph the sun as it sets over Phoenix from Dobbins Lookout from the top of South Mountain. Note that the sun sets at 6:50 PM but the entrance gates may close at 7 (although park/trails open to 11PM). Also it does take some time to get up the 3.7 mile road to Dobbins Point from the entrance as it gains 2330 feet in elevation! So we recommend getting to the main entrance with plenty of time to get up to the Dobbin's Lookout. There is plenty of parking. Area is rocky so we recommend comfortable shoes and water, as this is summer in AZ. We recommend a tripod as well!
