World Cup Watch Party on Governors Island

Join us for The People’s Final, New York City’s premier free World Cup watch party, hosted by the Trust for Governors Island on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 1–6 PM at the historic Parade Ground. Set against the iconic Lower Manhattan skyline, this celebratory afternoon brings soccer fans and families together for a large-scale outdoor screening of the tournament’s final match, plus soccer clinics, open play, live DJs, family activities, and international food vendors highlighting NYC’s diverse cultures. The event is free and open to all—no registration required.
Where & When to Meet
- Date: Sunday, July 19, 2026
- Event time: 1:00–6:00 PM (Parade Ground)
- Our group meet-up: 12:00 noon
- Meet-up location: By the restrooms near Yankee Pier (on the Buttermilk Channel side of Governors Island).

Yankee Pier is about a 5-minute walk from the Parade Ground, so we’ll arrive with plenty of time to settle in before the festivities begin.

To stay comfortable through the afternoon, please consider bringing:
- Sunblock – the Parade Ground is open and sunny.
- A refillable water bottle – hydration is key on a summer day.
- Snacks – while international food vendors will be on site, having your own snacks ensures you’re set between activities.
