Neighborhood Walking Tour of Old Town with Guide Giovina Romandine
Details
$20 PER PERSON FOR AN EXCLUSIVE & PRIVATE NEIGHBORHOOD WALKING TOUR OF THE OLD TOWN HISTORIC DISTRICT WITH PROFESSIONAL CHICAGO TOUR GUIDE, GIOVINA ROMANDINE. As you know, I have become a official tour guide with Chicago for Chicagoans under Patti Swanson!!! Come check out another walking tour that I have developed in the Old Town area. We will be doing this event with our sister group, 1001 Things to See in Chicago Before You Die so this is a multi meetup event
Several of you may have done this tour back in May with me but I am doing it again as Rich Kolar from Chicago Streets & Beyond Photography group has asked me to do this walk for his Virtual Tourist Convention. I am extending this event to my members who may not have had a chance to do the walk in May. Please join us!
Beginning on the famous Wells Street we will walk throughout the Old Town neighborhood. The tour will take you through the rich history of the area, the business district, several famous comedy venues, interesting architect, artist colonies and beautiful churches
The tour is approx 2.2 miles of walking outside so wear good walking shoes and proper outdoor clothing for the Chicago spring weather. Bring water!
Please keep in mind that the tour Ends about 3-4 blocks from where we start so park accordingly if you drive. We start at the Brown Line Sedgwick stop at 1536 N Sedgwick St. and end at the former Bijou Theater at 1349 N Wells so it is an easy walk back your car depending on where you park
BRING WATER, hand sanitizer and good walking shoes. I cannot guarantee how many washroom facilities will be available so please plan accordingly. We will go to Orso's Italian Restaurant or Broken English Taco Pub after the walk.
EVERYONE PAYS $20 UPFRONT AT THE START OF THE TOUR.
After the walk, some of us may grab a bite at Orso's Italian Restaurant or Broken English Tacos. All are welcome to join!

First settled by German immigrants in 1850, Old Town is popular with architecture buffs who come to admire its Victorian-era buildings, quaint streets and shops. Tree-lined Wells Street features the revered Second City comedy club, old-school pubs, charming eateries and artisanal coffee shops, as well as quirky boutiques. St. Michael’s Church is one of the few structures in Chicago to survive the Great Fire of 1871.
