Exploring Connecticut (20's, 30's, 40's)

Looking to spend a few hours outside making new friends and enjoying a lively atmosphere? Come to Celebrate West Hartford and enjoy the wide variety of food vendors, jury selected art vendors from across the country, local jazz bands, rides and a petting zoo. We will tour the festival together starting no later than at 10:45am, get to eat some good food and listen to great local music. This event is rain or shine, an umbrella and or sunscreen is recommended depending on the forecast. New Members are very much welcome to attend.

Restroom facilities are located in the town library, throughout the festival and across the street at the Dunkin Donuts on South Main Street. Water is sold at the festival, or you can bring your own.

There is free parking in the Isham Garage from 10am-6pm located at 17 Isham Road, West Hartford, CT. Parking is also available at the Town Center Garage, 29 South Main Street. A $5 event parking fee applies. Town surface lots and marked curbside spaces are available. Parking fees apply; please pay at the kiosk.

If you cannot attend the whole time, feel free to pop in as you can and leave when you want. Please do come find me so that I can check you in and know that you've left. Looking forward to seeing everyone and having a great time :)

About the ride: In order to attend this event, you need to have your own bike (in good condition) & physically be able to ride 23.6 miles.

I'll post additional information as it gets closer to the event, but we will be riding on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail.

Distance of Ride: 23.6 miles (starting at Kinsmen -> Quinnipiac University in Hamden -> back to Kinsmen for food/drinks).

Pace of ride: This will depend on the group, but I am guessing at least 10 mph.

Breaks?: Again, this will depend on the group, but we will stop for a quick break at the parking lot across the street from Quinnipiac (approximately 11.8 miles into the ride). If needed, we can add additional breaks half way down to Quinnipiac and/or half way back to Kinsmen.

This event will most likely be popular & have a wait list; in other words, if you are RSVP'd Yes and know you aren't coming, please be respectful by updating yourself to No (in order for someone to come off the wait list). Any last-minute cancelations, especially if there is a wait list, will be considered a 'No Show' for the event & may restrict you from attending future events.
