Opening Weekend at The Big E

The Big E is back again! The Big E is a massive annual fair that begins on the second Friday after Labor Day and runs for 17 days. During that time you can watch concerts, visit with vendors from all over the northeast, shop unique products, ride carnival rides, and of course eat the best foods around. It's one of the biggest fairs in the country, which regularly brings in over 100,000 people per day.

Some of the highlights include:

-A circus
-Daily parade
-Animal demonstrations and exhibits
-Free and paid concerts
-The avenue of states: Each New England state house features foods, drinks, and products unique to that state
-Beer gardens
-100s of food vendors
-A massive midway with dozens of rides
-Buildings full of unique products from around the world
-The National Folk Theatre of Ireland and Young Dubliners will be performing for FREE at the Court of Honor stage

Daily tickets are $17.50 in advance or $20 at the gate. You can also buy passes if you plan to go more than once. Parking is $10 (cash only) at gate 9, and other nearby lots provide parking as well for $10-$30.
