Do you like to Kayak? Regardless if you're a beginner or a pro, come join us on Saturday June 6th for a fun time kayaking on the Farmington River.

Additional information about Collinsville Canoe & Kayak, including current rates to rent a Kayak (single or two person kayak), can be found on their website.

This event is also new member friendly! What does that mean? It means that if you've never been to a Meetup Event before, for whatever reason, and especially if you want to meet new people, then this event is perfect for you! When you arrive, just make sure to introduce yourself to me.

I'll post additional information as it gets closer to the event, but the plan is to:

  • Meet at 12:00 PM directly outside from where you check-in (when you enter the parking lot, this will be to your immediate left & there is usually a pop-up canopy along with picnic tables).
  • Once you are at the picnic tables, this is where the waivers are found. Each person needs to complete a waiver.
  • After you complete your waiver & before we check-in, this is a good time for any last minute items, e.g., get anything you need from your car, make sure your license/ID is with you (if you rent a Kayak from them, they will hold your ID until you return), bathroom, sunscreen, etc.
  • Check-in as a group at 12:30 PM. If you want them to hold any valuables while we are on the water, like your car keys, you can do so when we check-in.
  • When we walk over to the kayaks, this is where life jackets are also provided. Hopefully be on the water for 12:45 PM.
  • We will kayak for approximately 90-120 minutes depending on how the group is doing. If at any point you want to turn around and come back early, you are more than welcome to.
  • Once we finish, we will head back inside to get our Iicense/ID & pay at that point.

If you have any questions/comments, feel free to post here or message me directly!

Note: Please make sure your RSVP status is correct by 12:00 PM on Friday June 5th. This event tends to be popular, usually having a wait list; in other words, if you are RSVP'd yes and know you aren't coming, please be respectful by updating yourself to no (in order for someone to come off the wait list). Any last-minute cancelations, especially if there is a wait list, will be considered a 'No Show' for the event & may restrict you from attending future events.
