What we’re about

This is a discussion-based community for people who think deeply about the big questions—consciousness, perception, intelligence, and the nature of reality—and are curious about how insights from science, philosophy, and direct experience might inform one another.

We host two recurring virtual Exploratory Chats (aka X-Chats):

  • Tuesday Series: X-Chats on Consciousness, Perception, and the Nature of Reality
These sessions focus on scientific and philosophical models of consciousness, theories of mind, and broader questions about what constitutes reality. While grounded in research and academic frameworks, we also leave space for big-picture speculation. Topics have ranged from theories of consciousness to models of reality, information, the role of AI, and existence itself.

  • Sunday Series: X-Chats on UAPs, Non-Human Intelligence and Psychic Abilities
These sessions explore topics often considered fringe—from psi abilities and altered states to frameworks for understanding non-human intelligence and anomalous experiences. The tone is grounded but open-minded: we welcome both skeptics and experiencers, aiming to reverse-engineer what these phenomena might reveal about mind, intelligence, and reality. While we apply a critical lens, we also make space for first-person experience and non-traditional worldviews.

  • We also occasionally host in-person Sunday afternoon gatherings in Brooklyn. These are informal and more social—no set topic, just a chance to connect face-to-face with others in the group. Past meetups have included casual conversation, shared interests, and the occasional game or creative activity. Whether you're a regular in our virtual sessions or just curious to meet like-minded folks in person, you're always welcome.

What to Expect
Rather than lectures or long presentations, X-Chats are guided, exploratory discussions shaped by those in the room. Depending on the topic, sessions may begin with a short overview—typically 10 to 30 minutes—just to lay some shared groundwork. This might include a few key ideas, terms, or research highlights I’ve pulled together to give everyone a common jumping-off point, especially since folks join from many different backgrounds and levels of familiarity.

Participants approach these topics from all kinds of starting points—scientific, philosophical, spiritual, or experiential. The goal isn’t to debate or convert, but to deepen our individual and collective thinking. We welcome complexity, ambiguity, and the kinds of questions that don’t have easy answers. Whether you're theory-driven, story-driven, or simply curious, you’ll find others ready to meet you where you are—and invite you to go further.
