🎃 Spooky Halloween Walk 👻 - Southern Berlin Edition

Join us for a 15 km Halloween walk through southern Berlin, exploring unusual architecture, former industrial sites, nature trails, and historic cemeteries.

We'll follow this route northward and finish outside the church for our final group costume photos.

👻 Costumes

• Costumes are optional, but feel free to dress up for Halloween!

• Don't want to wear a costume for the whole walk? Bring a white sheet with two eye holes for some classic ghost photos during our stops.

🗺️ Main Highlights

• Mäusebunker: See this bunker-like former animal research facility. The building was used for biomedical research and animal experimentation.

• Natur-Park Südgelände: Explore a former railway yard with old locomotives, railway tracks, and industrial structures. This is the main park we'll enter. (€1)

• Historic cemeteries: We'll walk around Friedhof Steglitz and the Old St. Matthew's Cemetery. During one of our short breaks, anyone who isn't in costume is welcome to briefly enter a cemetery if it's open. Please respect opening hours and cemetery rules.

• Kirche am Südstern: Finish outside the church with our final group costume photos.

⏸️ Breaks & Pace

We'll have two short ~10-minute breaks and one 45-minute break along the route.

Please bring water and snacks, wear comfortable walking shoes, and dress for the autumn weather. We'll leave time for photos and stops along the way.

🍽️ Optional Dinner After the Walk

After our group photos at Kirche am Südstern, anyone who's interested is welcome to join for an optional dinner at Mały Książę – Polish Groceries & Café nearby. Dinner is optional, so feel free to join us for the walk only or stay for food and conversation afterward. Everyone pays for their own meal.

💶 Costs

• Natur-Park Südgelände entrance: €1 per person. The ticket machines are cash only, so please bring €1 in cash.

• Organizer donation: €5 to support event planning and organization.

• Dinner: Optional; food and drinks are paid individually.

⚠️ Important Information

This is a social walking meetup, not a guided tour. Participants are responsible for their own safety and belongings. Stay on designated paths and follow local rules. Do not bring dangerous props or replica weapons that could cause concern in public. It may get a bit dark towards the end, so flashlights may be useful. If you decide to go in a cemetery make sure to be wearing appropriate attire. Please arrive a few minutes before 13:45 so we can start on time. This is a 15 km walk with several stops and breaks, so be prepared for an afternoon of walking.
