[ESV] Thanksgiving Mingler Dinner + Food contest

If you're new here, this event is for you! If you're here since the beginning of this meetup group or anywhere in between, this event is for you too!

With Thxgiving coming up around the corner and with lots of new comers to our group. lets have a mingler potluck dinner. (Food not required if you're too busy to cook or a horrible chef like me, we'll be ordering takeout as needed)

Thanksgiving is traditionally a time where communities and neighbours bring food and celebrate things they're thankful for: a job, a place to live, being in Canada, freedom and most importantly great family, friends and community. Let's gather together around food and get to know others in the Extremely Shy community over dinner and fun games.

We'll bring some chicken or turkey. you guys bring some multicultural dish for 12+ people! (Or be a food judge if you don't have a dish) specify at your RSVP or post on discussion so there won't be 50 ppl bringing desserts.

Details:

Time-
6:00PM-8:00PM- Potluck Dinner
8:00PM-10:00PM- icebreaker + activities

cost- $15 at the door (no credit card)

Cost will go mostly toward chicken/turkey (anyone know of an affordable place to order a cooked turkey?), room/table/chairs rental, utensils, cups, drinks appies. excess will go toward prizes and toward keeping this group free. If you have food, you will be entered into the food contest/raffle!

Location- We are meeting at the YWCA hotel at stadium/chinatown behind BC Place. 733 Beatty St, Vancouver, BC, Vancouver, BC.

Follow the map below if you're coming by skytrain. There MAY be street (metered) parking.

Food:

We'll bring the chicken/turkey, bread/sushi/salad/pizza?/drinks and utensils.

If you are bringing a dish, please specify it in your RSVP or post on the discussion so there wont be overlap. You will be automatically entered into the food contest where we will have a vote at the end of the day for the grand prize!

YWCA does not allow alcohol and we do not have an alcohol license, so please do not bring any alcohol.

Contest:

We have multiple prize give-aways!

Food contest - We will have a couple judges (you could be one of them if you're not bringing food) who will vote on the best dish of the night based on deliciousness and unique/exoticness.
