About us
Sit across from someone. Look. Stay.
Eye Contact Dublin is a calm weekly practice group for getting comfortable with eye contact. We pair up, sit facing each other, and hold eye contact in short timed rounds, without talking and without looking away. Then we swap partners and go a little longer.
It sounds simple. Most people find it surprisingly hard at first, and surprisingly calming after a few rounds. The steadiness you build helps you stay calm and present with people, and with situations you'd normally look away from.
Who it's for: anyone 18+ who'd like to feel more at ease with people. No experience needed, and you don't need to bring a partner.
Ground rules: you can sit out any round, no explanation needed. No talking or touching during rounds. Phones away. It's practice, not therapy, and not connected to any religion, movement or organisation.
We meet every Saturday, 2–4pm, at the dlr LexIcon library in Dún Laoghaire, a short walk from the DART. Your first session is free; after that it's €10, or €40 for five sessions, to cover the room.
