This group is dedicated to fostering deep, soulful connections, inspired by the world's largest eye contact experiment that took place nearly a decade ago across 140 cities—including Montréal. Our aim is to create a safe space where strangers can sit face-to-face, gazing into each other's eyes for as long as they feel comfortable, before moving on to a new partner.
What may seem like a simple act can quickly transform into a profound meditation—an exploration of the self through the mirror of another. After all, the eyes are often called the windows to the soul, and this practice can lead to unexpected personal transformation.
Today’s world is marked by war, hatred, indifference, loneliness, and apathy. But what if the root of these struggles lies in humanity’s disconnection from its true essence? When we lose touch with ourselves, we inevitably lose touch with others, reinforcing separation and fear. This breeds a survival mindset—clinging to identities for safety, attacking perceived threats, and seeking worth in external validation. Yet, what if we remembered that beneath our illusory differences, we are fundamentally one? You cannot fear what you love, for in love, you recognize another as an extension of yourself.
Could social experiments like this—if embraced widely and consistently—help heal the world, one shared gaze at a time?
