# F.L.A.I.R. Tech Talks — Session 2
Thanks to everyone who joined our kickoff! Big shout-out to our presenters and the lively discussion after each talk:
- Ben Murray (cybersecurity at a finance firm) showed side projects using AI to spot fake comments on social platforms and to detect when someone on a teleconference might be using AI tools without saying so. Tons of great questions—from “how does it work?” to “where else can this be used?”
- Ian Stokes (BCG partner, ex-CERN) shared takeaways from ODSC SF on where AI is headed in 2026, plus his vision for a data-scientist-centric IDE for agentic GenAI. We covered a ton—especially on circular investments in AI and where the space is headed. The discussion was electric, and it even turned into an impromptu whiteboarding session.
- Ash Verma (Microsoft CSA) demoed a side project that uses AI to spin up disposable, cloud-based sandboxes for learning, experimenting, and demos. We previewed the chat flow for gathering sandbox requirements—more to come next time.
## What to expect?
We’ll share updates from the above projects and would love to add new talks. If you’re tinkering with anything in AI and/or Robotics, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a hobbyist-friendly club: your project doesn’t need to be finished, polished, or commercial. Side projects, prototypes, research ideas, and early-stage startups are all welcome.
Want to present?
Message Ash Verma or comment with:
- Talk title + 1–2 sentence overview
- Rough duration (5, 10, or 15 minutes)
- Live demo? (yes/no)
## Format
- Welcome & quick intros
- 3–5 tech talks with discussion
- Social mixer to keep the conversation going
- Bagels and coffee throughout
Can’t wait to see what you’re building—come share, learn, and connect!
