Theres Gould In Them Hills!

We're chasing more waterfalls kids! This time it's the man-made variety.

This trail has everything! Hills, rocks, bridges, trees, hills, a campsite, a picnic site, hills, hills, did I mention hills? Luckily the main hill is on the way out. Whats better than finishing a 6 mile hike with a mile long walk up a dirt hill?.... I can think of lots of things actually. BUT! everything else on this trail makes it totally WORTH the work! Unless you're a crazy person with a set of stems that crave torture... If thats you, I'll be in the back, struggling to cheer you on between breaths.

"Gould Mesa Road: Angeles Crest Highway to Paul Little Picnic Site"
This is a 6 mile in and out trail that leads you down into a canyon with a creek, and ends at a massive water run off/concrete waterfall. Parking is free, and is located right off Angeles Crest Highway. AllTrails rates it as moderate difficulty. The trail itself isnt too difficult. I think the hill on the way back to the car is where it gets its rating.

We'll be meeting at the trailhead at 7:30am, and heading out at 7:40.

The trail is mostly shaded, except for the hill down and back up. We will likely be in full sun on the way back. Please bring all the SPFs. Skin cancer is SO uncool!

You'll need 1-2 liters of water, more if you're bringing your pooch. There are a few spots with loose dirt, so shoes with good tread will help, but aren't required. We will also be crossing the creek in a few places. Its easy to avoid getting wet but helpful to know in advance. We'll be stopping at the waterfall for snacks and photos and a happy halfway dance before heading back to the car.

Despite the name of the group, this even is open to everyone who is vaccinated and boosted, except children in strollers... unless thats your jam... 🤘

Look for a supremely cool looking readahead or just start screaming "VERONICA" at the parking lot. I'll find you.
