Details
http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/d/b/6/b/event_29636171.jpegThe subject this month is "Pets and other Critters". Your images should consider all aspects of good composition. Does the selected aperture enhance or detract from the subject. Is the light harsh or soft? Does the background enhance or detract from the subject? Can fill flash be used for a more pleasing composition? Are the eyes of the subject looking at the camera or off somewhere else. Are the eyes in focus?
And etc.:
We will explore post processing options that may enhance the image.
John Lehman give us guidance on lighting for "Portraits" assignment.
John has been photographing people since he was in third grade. Starting out with his Kodak Brownie to the Canon 7D and Canon M he uses now, he has always been most interested in people as his subjects. The primary focus of his efforts in recent years has been fine art nudes. His current projects include the “Nude Obscura Project” a five year (to date) project of anonymous nudes. Over 25 models have contributed to the project. Currently he is working on recreating images similar to those done during the Art Deco era. These projects and some of his other work can be seen on his website http://thewizardofpixels.com (http://thewizardofpixels.com/) and on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/windsweptphoto/ . His Flickr account recently topped 730,000 views.
John will be sharing information on portrait photography including posing, using small flashes to create great light and other aspects of portrait photography. He is currently co-chair of the Training Committee of the Plano Photography Club and he, along with his wife Lois, are past presidents of the club. He and his wife are volunteer staff photographers for Dallas Heritage Village. Their images are routinely used in their promotional literature.
