This is a first meet up to see if we can get a club scene going for Combat Robots in Auckland and beyond.
All ages welcome.
The TV shows have created a lot of interest in this, but to date there have not been venues available for local participation.
Designing and building and driving these Robots seems like a natural fit with "Kiwi ingenuity".
There are opportunities to build Robots ranging from the lowest technology and cost all the way up to the exotic.
We have built an Arena suitable for 150gm and 454gm (1lb) class robots. At present it is open topped, but we intend adding a clear polycarbonate "battle box" so that robots with unlimited weapons can compete.
AURA (Auckland University Robotics Association) are presently building an arena for Beetleweight Robots (1.36Kg - 3lb), with a competition for schools, running on 15 July.

For our first meet up on Sunday 23 July we will have the Arena set up and operating with some demo Robots.
You are welcome to bring along any 150gm class Robots to run.
The second part of the meet up will be for discussion about creating a club scene with regular meetings and competition.
