It's been long overdue, but we're happy to announce the next Meetup for the Belgian Xamarin User group.

This time will focus on two interesting yet completely different topics ranging from making you Forms App truly beautiful with animations to debugging hard problems using the Profiler on Android. More details on the sessions below.

1. Xamarin Forms - To the Platform and back

Xamarin forms was introduced to allow creating similar mobile apps on each OS, without bothering to much with the native specifics of each OS. In other words getting the same look and feel for each targeted platform.

But if you want to create great astonishing mobile apps, that shine on each platform, you better know the native platform too.

In this session we will explore all the different options you have as Xamarin forms developer to put the pedal to the metal and deep dive in native code!We will discuss Custom Renderers, Effects, Platform specifics and also show you how to embed and data bind native controls straight in your Xamarin forms XAML.

2. Profiling Xamarin.Android Apps

Once your app goes beyond being a trivial app, you are bound to bump into some interesting problems. One of those problems are memory leaks.In this talk we are going to have a look at some tools to help you understand the memory usage of your app, diagnose wether or not you have a memory leak and will help you find it. We will also have a look at how memory is managed by Android and Xamarin.Android so we understand what kind of leaks we can expect. There will also be some tips you can apply right away in your own projects.
