Monthly Social Meeting for Makers, Tinkerers and Creatives

Come join us for a series of monthly gathering at a newly opened venue. This is a free event for anyone interested in being surrounded by Makers, Tinkerers, Creatives and More.

Feel free to arrive as early as 6:30pm. Someone will be at the door to let you in until 7pm. After that, knock on the door or ring the doorbell, then we'll let you in.

There is no set agenda, so feel free to walk in and get to know other local makers. We also invite people to bring, share or discuss interesting projects they've seen or are working on. It can be anything from crochet to circuit boards. We'll have tables available for you to set it out for display. Share your highlights and lessons, and get the chance to ask for advice. We want to hear all the technical details and share a laugh over the silly mistakes. Attendees are welcome to simply socialize and participate in stimulating conversations with other Makers.

This is a trial series of meetings for our little community. Attendance is important to let us know whether you like the venue and you're interested in these kinds of informal social events in the future. Feel free to make suggestions to the host or drop a comment.

This meeting is kindly hosted by our friends from ​Zero Waste San Diego, a nonprofit with 18 years of sustainability leadership with a new facility: the Reuse & Repair Collective in downtown San Diego. Currently focused on events, this community hub will also soon be providing tool and repair expertise.
​🚲 Parking & Transportation
Please be aware that there is a steep hill to reach the entrance.
​• Public transit: We’re just a short walk from the trolley and several bus routes.
​• Free street parking: 2-hour free parking is available on Beech St & 6th Ave in front of the venue. There is typically lots of street parking available in the evenings.
​• Meters: Many paid parking meters are available nearby.
​• ACE Parking: hourly private parking is available at nearby ACE Parking lots.
​• Bikes: Free bike storage is available onsite for attendees.
​​✨ Our host encourages carpooling, public transit, walking, or biking whenever possible!

On the 2nd Monday of the month we have our monthly Autonomous Vehicles Builders and Beginners event at a local brewery. It is presented by the San Diego Robotics group.

It's DIY and open source for autonomous cars of any size, from tiny 1:28th scale to full-size. Primarily we build cars which us AI/NN based on the Donkey framework( http://docs.donkeycar.com ).

If you want to start a DonkeyCar Project, please bring your kits, and we will have experts who can help you out. If you want to just come out and hang out with the club members, pick up a BOM listing, etc you are more than welcome to join us as well.

Bring your bots, your parts, your curiosity and for fun wear a robot shirt if you can, so that we can identify you easily.
