More info about this month's book:
What if curiosity is the only thing that can stop us from tearing each other apart? In Seek: How Curiosity Can Transform Your Life and Change the World, Scott Shigeoka argues that our divided world does not need more shouting matches or “agree to disagree” moments. It needs people willing to stay curious when everything in them wants to shut down.

Think about all the issues we tiptoe around: politics at the dinner table, vaccines during the pandemic, gender identity, religion and climate change. Most of us avoid these conversations because they feel explosive. Shigeoka suggests that leaning in with deep curiosity is the only way to move past the fear and hostility.
He calls it a radical practice because it demands vulnerability, discomfort, and the courage to ask questions of people we would rather avoid or ignore.

This book does not promise easy answers. Instead, it dares us to imagine what might happen if we stopped clinging to our certainty and started listening with the goal of understanding, not winning.

Could curiosity heal broken families?
Could it save friendships that have been wrecked by politics?
Could it help us see the humanity in people whose beliefs feel threatening to us?

With raw stories and practical tools, Seek challenges us to treat curiosity not as a soft skill but as a survival skill. Shigeoka’s message is both hopeful and provocative: curiosity is not just about being open minded, it is about being brave enough to cross the lines we have drawn between us.
