Session 1 - Monitoring queries and refreshes using Workspace
Monitoring, Log Analytics, Profiler and DAX Studio - Chris Webb

When you're performance tuning a slow Power BI report or refresh you need to know what happens inside the engine, and the good news is that the Power BI engine can give you all kinds of detailed information on its internals. But how do you get access to this? How can you understand it? In this session you'll find out: how you can get (almost) the same information on internals from Workspace Monitoring, Log Analytics, SQL Server Profiler and DAX Studio and when to use which; which engine events are relevant to queries and which ones are relevant to refreshes; and how you can interpret this information for tuning.

About Chris
Chris is a Principal Program Manager on the Power BI Customer Advisory Team. He has over 20 years of experience as a consultant and trainer specializing in the Microsoft BI stack, with expertise in Power BI, SQL Server Analysis Services, MDX, DAX, M, Power Pivot and Power Query.

Session 2 - Applications with Microsoft Foundry - Shubhangi Goyal
In this session, we’ll explore how Azure AI Foundry helps developers and data professionals build, customize, and operationalize AI solutions using the latest in large language models (LLMs) and Azure’s trusted infrastructure. From prompt engineering to context management, model evaluation, and deployment, we’ll walk through how the Foundry enables you to move from experimentation to production faster and more securely.

Whether you’re building copilots, domain-specific agents, or generative AI apps, this session will help you understand how Azure AI Foundry streamlines the journey from idea to impact.

Key Takeaways:

  • Understand the core components of Azure AI Foundry (projects, hubs, model catalog, orchestration).
  • Learn how to integrate OpenAI and custom models into Azure-based applications.
  • Explore responsible AI, governance, and monitoring within the Foundry ecosystem.
  • See a demo or architecture walkthrough for deploying a contextual AI app or copilot.
  • Discover how Foundry connects with Azure Machine Learning, AI Studio, and Fabric for end-to-end innovation.
