What we're about

***Seeking wonderful women who like to socialize, wine and dine, go to live music and other shows with women friends. If you are looking for great friends and fun times, you will fit right in. This is a women’s only group. I modified the group’s name as about 10 men have tried to join.

I purchase tix to shows mostly at discount prices so that we are assured of sitting together. I have a good relationship with City Winery Concierge and they help me get seats for shows that I pay for directly thru The Winery. I have websites where I can get discount tix for their shows. Even though I don’t know where our seats will be, we all sit together and I have never gotten bad seats. If I get tix thru The Winery, I don’t pay a service fee as I buy an annual CW membership that gives me advance notice of shows as well. City Winery has no food/drink minimum. Most other places do. Before Omicron, I was getting discount tix to Birdland and a lot of us attended great jazz shows there. I keep my eye out for new discount tix daily. I am also looking for free shows, like the 2 art shows I have set up. I only set up shows for later in the day/ evenings due to medical issues that I have. For any further info please message me.

20 min before an off Broadway show get tix for $20

Location visible to members

In its 10th year, Off Broadway show tix are available for a limited time 20 min before a show starts, for $20. Go to Time Out for NYC and look for it at “search”. Make sure you look for the May 9th, 2022 article not the 2016 article, that is where I obtained the info from. This discount is for May 14-29 only. I assume this applies to matinees, however, read the info online. There are wonderful shows such as Americano, Sistas and many more. This is a do it yourself type of thing, as opposed to an “event” as different women have seen different shows already.

Free- Jazz Ensemble show

Needs a location

This is a free show. The ASO presents this jazz ensemble as a salute to America’s jazz royalty: NJ native jazz pianist and composer Count Basie; singer songwriter Nat King Cole; and Duke Ellington, whose totally original music style used a unique blend of both classical and jazz compositional techniques.

The show is from 5:30-6:30 pm so a few of us should get there early, in front of Whole Foods around 4:30/4:45pm to secure seats. 42nd and 6th Ave. The show is at Bryant Park, Upper Terrace, 6th Ave and W. 42nd St. Bring picnic blankets etc and whatever food and drink you desire.

Note: The ensemble will be playing Tuesday, May 24th as well for those of you who can’t make it on Monday, May 23rd.
