Shangri La Museum w/Dinner & Jazz at Capitol Modern!

Details
Shangrai La houses the largest private collection of Islamic Art in the world, from Morocco, India, Spain, Iran, Syria and Egypt. This was originally Doris Duke’s private home. Over the course of her lifetime she amassed the most exquisite collection, which upon her death was turned into a museum and given to Hawaii. The collections rotate, so even if you’ve been here before there’s always more to see!
Join us for the 3:00 tour on Friday, June 20th. Tickets sell out way in advance, so if you want to be part of this buy your ticket now. Ticket price is $20. Please don't rsvp until you have purchased your ticket. We'll meet at the Honolulu Academy of Arts (HOMA) at 2:30, check in is at 2:45. A tour bus drives us to Shangri La (walk-ins are not allowed at the museum). The self-guided tour is 75 minutes, then we return to HOMA by bus. The price of the ticket includes admission to HOMA on that same day.
After the museum those who'd like will head over to Capitol Modern Museum for the regular Jazz Night under the stars, which takes place (it's free!) on the third Friday every month. Doors open at 5:00, music starts at 6 and the show ends at 9. Food and beverages are available for purchase, or you can bring your own. We'll grab a table, eat and enjoy the music, food and beautiful setting!
Sounds like an amazing day, doesn't it?
