If you haven't been on a bike in the last 40 years but this sounds like a fun idea, come join us!
I have a private ride organized with the Hawaii Bicycle League (HBL) to take us on a journey around Magic Island (no cars!) on their trikes. For those of you who've never heard of a trike, it's a three wheel recumbant bike, great for those with back or knee issues, or poor balance, or who just want to ride through the park on a bike but feel about 40 years out of practice! This is a good way to have fun and exercise for just about anyone (I took my 90 year old friend out triking!)
HBL previously had a grant to take kupuna out on Golden Gear rides. They've lost the grant but the rides continue!
I've started a Triking Club for an organization I'm a part of (Mālama Village). It's a new club and you're invited too! There are only two trikes still available for this ride, but if you'd like to join us please get in touch with me and I'll assist you in our registration process. The cost is $20, payable directly to HBL.
We'll gather at Magic Island at 9:15 (plenty of parking available on a weekday), ride starts at 9:30. This is an intro ride so there will be instruction first and the ride will be quite easy.
Ride ends of 11:00 and then we'll gather for a potluck lunch!
