Managing Difficult Conversations

Details

Dear members.
Thank you for participating in the Learning Needs Survey. I am happy to invite the Creators of Bramble (an app) to share with us a unique and current way to engage and encourage conversations with our children. No charges. Sign up now! Details below:

Programme Outline:
[10 mins] Buffer time & Introductions to Bramble and the team

[20-25 mins] Brief basics on the What's, Why's and How's of these important principles:
Curiosity: Understanding what's going on beneath the surface.
Empathy: Responding to your child's feelings in a way that makes them feel heard and understood.
Sharing: Expressing your thoughts and feelings in ways that build connection.

[30-35 mins] Going through real life scenarios and showing the three principles in action, with Bramble as a guide to help you put them into practice.

[15-20 mins] Closing Words and Q&A

Speaker:
Our workshop will be led by Bernadette Clara Yeo, who is Head of Product here at Bramble. Bernadette graduated from New York University with a double major in Early Childhood & Special Education and Anthropology. She is deeply passionate about working with children and helping those with special needs. In both Singapore and New York, she has developed curriculum materials for students across a wide range of ages and needs, from one-on-one creative writing lessons, to teaching full classes of kindergarten and PSLE students. Outside of teaching, Bernadette is involved in her church's worship ministry, where she sings and mentors the youth who share her love for music.
