Point Reyes National Seashore
Details
We'll begin the day by meeting at the Bear Valley Visitors Center. Then we will walk the Earthquake Walk, a one mile long flat, paved trail with the hopes of seeing deer and other wildlife. Watch for the Woodpecker, there are 3 different types that call the area home. We also check the visitor's center wildlife list. Rangers post wildlife sitings in the park for possible side trips.
Then we'll head to Abbotts Lagoon to see what's there. Normally deer, river otters, and a large selection of birds
From there we will go to the Tule Elk Preserve at the Pierce Ranch at the north end of the park.
Depending on the time we may go to Drakes Bay and the Lighthouse.
At some point we will stop for lunch, either at the Inverness Deli & Market or a local restaurant.
I will be leaving the Raley's Shopping Center at 3330 North Texas Street in front of Mountain Mikes pizza at 6:30am.
If you want a ride or to follow be there.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, dress in layers, and bring water and snacks.
