A common question I encounter around faith has to do with God and silence.

One of my friends recently said it like this: If God is real, why do I feel like my relationship is so one-sided? I cry out in my loneliness and pain and get nothing back. If God is real, he is a (not very complimentary term).

How have you experienced and interpreted the apparent silence of God?

What sort of expectations do you have around hearing God?

What questions or comments might you have in response to the sentiments my friend expressed above?
