Bike Ride

📍 Meeting Point: The Kelpies, Falkirk

Join us for a scenic bike ride along the Union Canal as we cycle from the Kelpies to the Falkirk Wheel and back in a loop! The total distance is 20km (about 12 miles).

This is a social ride, but please note that there are some roads on the route. You must be confident riding on them, though traffic is expected to be light.

Route Details:
📸 A photo of the route will be posted in the event photos.
🚴 We'll start at the Kelpies and follow the Union Canal towards the Falkirk Wheel.
🌿 Enjoy beautiful canal-side views and fresh air as we ride at a comfortable pace.
🚴‍♀️ We'll pass through the canal tunnel – bike lights are recommended.
🔄 We'll take a loop back to our starting point at the Kelpies.

Important Information:
✔ Pace: Around 10 mph – we will wait for those who are a little slower, but please ensure you can maintain this speed.
✔ Helmets are mandatory – if you are not wearing one, you will not be allowed to join.
✔ Your bike must be in working order and suitable for the route.
✔ You must bring tools to fix a puncture or any bike issue should you need them.
✔ Bring bike lights for the tunnel, water, and snacks, and wear weather-appropriate clothing. This event will go ahead unless the weather is seriously bad. I'll post in the event comments if the event is cancelled, but a bit of rain will not stop us.

💷 Please pay £1 to cover Meetup fees—you can either pay me via the link to my PayPal pool at the bottom of this description, or bring £1 cash with you. If you don’t pay in advance, I will politely beg you for your pound, as Meetup fees ain't cheap!

After the Ride:
🚴‍♂️ Once we finish, you're welcome to stay and grab a coffee or bite to eat at the café at the Kelpies. If the weather is nice, I may even treat myself to an ice cream! 🍦
