Join us for a relaxed English conversation walk through the historic heart of Toronto - Old Town
This Talk & Walk combines conversation, local discoveries, public art, and The Great Beaver Quest.
Together we'll explore Toronto's oldest neighbourhood, uncover stories hidden in its streets, discover public artworks, and search for the many beavers that quietly inhabit Old Town. Along the way, we'll learn about the artists behind these works, the symbolism of the beaver in Canadian culture, and how art helps tell the story of a city.
This is not a history tour or a lecture.
Instead, it's an interactive experience where our goals are conversations, observation, and exploration. We'll stop at historic landmarks, public art installations, architectural details, and unexpected corners that inspire discussion and curiosity.
Some of the themes we may explore:
• The Great Beaver Quest
• the highlights of Old Town Toronto
• public art and the artists and ideas behind it
• Canadian symbols and identity
• FIFA and Toronto as a global city
• intercultural friendship and community
• immigration and belonging
• architecture, history, and city life
• how art tells stories about a place
Throughout the walk, you'll have opportunities to share your ideas and connect with people from different backgrounds.
💬 Perfect for:
