Family-Friendly Fort Building and Loquat Feast

Details
Let's learn how to make simple structures from palm fronds, downed tree limbs and yard clippings. These are skills you can put to use after any big storm here in San Diego when there are many palm fronds to be gathered.
Perfect for kids, and an opportunity to let your inner child play -- we'll learn some techniques for keeping structures from falling down and how to keep the rain and sun off. We'll also talk about some techniques that have been common for building structures from natural materials in the area. Then we'll work collaboratively to build a little village.
Bring a picnic lunch if you'd like. We'll be bringing some loquats and some goodies made with loquats for folks to sample as they build, and some iced loquat leaf tea.
All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Should be fun.
