Family Adventures in Nature San Diego

We are a local San Diego group dedicated to helping families connect their children to nature, founded in 2009. Inspired by Richard Louv's book, Last Child in the Woods, this Family Nature Club helps families get nature back on their calendars with a variety of opportunities in and around the San Diego region. We encourage adults to follow their children's lead in nature, fostering their natural sense of wonder and awe.

In addition to the main FAN group, we are always looking for families who are interested in hosting an occasional nature event or leading a more regularly scheduled "Nearby Nature Club". These "mini" groups can be led by people just like you - people who want to get back out in nature with like-minded folks to foster a sense of community and watch their children flourish. Groups can be geographically organized or by age groups. We meet all over the county for romps and explorations, camping, tide pooling, and other fun adventures! We need people like you to help us get nature back on people's calendars!
