New Year, start with Rossoblu

Chef/owner Steve Samson is one of my favorite chefs for an authentic Italian restaurant, cutting-edge Rossoblu won't disappoint. Quality ingredients and simple execution come to life in redeye tuna tartare with shallots, capers, and preserved lemon over an avocado puree, served with lavash bread. Pastas, like Olimpia's tagliatelle, with house-made pasta with a pork and beef ragu, are just right. Close on the heels is an irresistible brick of tiramisu crowned with candied cocoa nib cream.
