Details

Hi all we willl be reading His Face is the Sun by Michelle Corpora. We are breaking this book into two so half for September and the rest in October so it is easier for people to read the book sincece it is over 500 pages. Here are the details on the book:

His Face Is the Sun is the first book in the Throne of Khetara YA fantasy trilogy by Michelle Jabès Corpora, published in May 2025. Inspired by Ancient Egypt, the story follows a princess, a priestess, a rebel, and a tomb robber whose destinies intertwine to save their kingdom from a dark prophecy and an awakening ancient evil.
Key Aspects:
Setting:
The story is set in the fictional kingdom of Khetara, a land steeped in Ancient Egyptian influence.
Plot:
As the pharaoh falls ill, a forgotten oracle awakens, binding four strangers to a prophecy that will determine the fate of the empire.
Characters:
The narrative is told from the perspectives of four main characters:
Sita: A princess who uncovers a dangerous betrayal within the royal court.
Neff: A priestess burdened by divine visions of destruction.
Rae: A farmer's daughter driven to rebellion by injustice.
Karim: A tomb robber whose discovery in the desert awakens an ancient enemy.
Themes:
The book explores themes of identity, power, fate, and the complex human drama within a world of magic and monarchy.
Comparisons:
Readers who enjoy the works of Leigh Bardugo, Roshani Chokshi, and Sabaa Tahir will likely appreciate His Face Is the Sun.

We will be at the same location we met in August. It worked really well. Looking forward to discussing this book with you all. I will update on chapters to read for September once I have the book.
