Thursday Games Night @ The Gloster

WE ARE TRIALLING A NEW VENUE THIS WEEK.
Please take time to read the event description before attending this session.

We are meeting in The Gloster for a prompt 7pm start. Some people will be arriving from 6pm to have food together and socialise before the main event.

• You must RSVP on Meetup if you plan to attend - the pub we are trialling has less space and we need to confirm numbers early Thursday afternoon
• Absolutely no food, drink, snacks or cakes are to come into the pub, all food and drink must be purchased - the pub are giving us the space for free

Feel free to bring along any games you might want to play, we always like to try out new games. And don't worry if you are only just getting into the hobby as our core group always brings a good selection of games that we are happy to teach.

We like try organise and start our games promptly at 7pm so please try to arrive a little before that if you are not coming earlier for food.

There is plenty of free parking and the pub has kindly reserved an area for us to use for the evening; enter through the main entrance, turn left, look for the small section in from of you.

Tables are smaller that we're used to from the Monkey Puzzle so please think twice before bringing any games that require a large amount of space to play.

There is no attendance fee so we do encourage attendees to purchase at least one drink or snack to make our presence valued by the venue.
The pub offers refillable soft drinks as well as a wide selection of good value pub food.

Please bear in mind that we are a group aimed at adults, playing modern and sometimes complex games, and the event is held in a pub. If your children are interested in joining we suggest you check us out first to get an idea of whether the games are appropriate for your child's age. Therefore any attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian.

Games & Experience
We can cater for all levels of experience from "I've never tried any, but I'm interested to learn" through to "I've played every board game in the known universe".

It's tricky to provide a list of "games we play" because the group is varied in interests and mood.
If you're in the headspace for any of these we can usually cater for those needs: quick, simple, silly, complicated, takes-up-the-whole-evening, thematic, abstract.

Parking
Car parking is FREE at the venue.

Accessibility
The Gloster has Blue Badge Parking near the main entrance.
Using the pub entrance from the parking, access is step-free and brings you into the pub close to the annex / function area that we meet in.

Affordability
The Gloster has menus available online. We do encourage attendees to purchase at least one drink or snack to make our presence valued by the venue.

Pets
We have no knowledge of the venue's policy on pets. Unless you explicitly confirm otherwise with the pub please assume no pets are allowed inside the venue.
