What we’re about
This group is for those of us who have a general interest in wild birds living on our coastline. It is also for those who are experts and generous enough to share their accumulated knowledge with the rest of us.
Fascinated by Coastal Wild Birds is based in Portmarnock. We meet once a month on a Sunday, an hour or so after sunrise. Just to give you a flavour of what we do...Our first event is on Sunday, 21st September 2025. We meet on Portmarnock beach at 0800 hours and walk to Baldoyle Estuary Nature Reserve and back, observing and listening as we go. After, we have breakfast in Little Green in Portmarnock Town Centre. We discuss the event and select a bird to focus on for the next outing. In the interim, we research the bird and learn as much as there is to know about it. We can bring binoculars, cameras, phones to record bird call etc.
