Mini open-shoot, Monday, 31 July 2023
Details
I am setting up a casual mini-shoot for this coming Monday, July 31st, 2023.
HOW THIS WORKS:
WHEN
The timeframe is from 6-8:00pm.
WHO
I have hired two models from a local agency. They will both be scheduled to work the entire timeframe, but will model individually (not together).
Each photographer will sign up for a single 1-hour slot during the timeframe (either 6-7 or 7-8) by leaving a comment as to which timeslot they want (this is a request on your part - it is not official until I confirm with you).
Two photographers will work together during their shoot. While one shoots, the other will assist with reflectors/silks/etc at the shooter's request. The two of you will switch from shooting to assisting every 5 or 10 minutes (just a suggestion - go with whatever you agree on).
WHAT
This means that you get an hour with a single model, alternating between shooting and assisting. I will assign models and photographer-pairs randomly once we are on-site.
Keep in mind that this is for fun, personal enjoyment, and/or practice. This is NOT a commercial shoot. The models will NOT be signing a release. You can use the pics on your socials and/or web portfolio, but that's it. Let's have fun out there!
WHERE
The specific location will be provided once I have confirmed your timeslot. In general, it is near the Seattle waterfront.
HOW MUCH
For these first shoots, I am not charging a fee, but I will accept donations to help defray the cost of the models :) Future shoots WILL require a fee since I can't afford to pay for models all the time.
WHAT IF
If the weather turns out to be bad, the shoot will be canceled since I have no indoor backup location.
If one of the models fails to show, I can stand in as a model myself (I modeled for 13 years and used to teach modeling classes).
HOW
To sign up, post a comment on this event with the timeslot you want (6-7 or 7-8). Your slot is not official until I have confirmed it with you.
BUT WHAT ABOUT...
If you have not used reflectors/silks before, I will bring some with me for you to borrow and give a quick how-to demonstration. If you have not worked with models before, I may be able to tag along to give some advice. Keep in mind however that this is NOT intended to be a workshop. I plan to schedule some actual workshops (aka teaching shoots) soon, so keep an eye out.
I know it is short notice. If you can't make it, I hope to plan more of these shoots soon, so keep an eye out for those as well.
