A free sort-of-supported ride.
You can ride either the 40 or 60 mile distance, and get free pizza and sodas at the end, then settle in and watch the end of stage 15 of the Tour de France. I rode this last year, and it's a nice, mostly friendly ride. Yes, most of the riders are Space City Cycling and Bike Barn regulars, so they'll blow us away right at the start, but there will also be plenty of riders of lower ability doing at least 40 miles, some for the first time.
Did I mention that it's free? Last year Bike Barn provided a rest stop with food and drinks during the ride, and then pizza and drinks at the end. Best cycling deal you'll ever see!
You need to pre-register for it, and sign off on their waiver. Ride starts at 7:30 am, I'll be there earlier (~7:00am ) and probably just buy some coffee at the Jack in the Box and camp out there until the start.
