A 30 mile ride over the Kemah bridge.

Meet by the duck pond at Bay Area park, close to the exit. Plenty of parking there along with restrooms.

A longer ride (33-36 miles) with a bail-out at around 29 miles total (turn right on Bay Area Blvd from Space Center). Some short cuts are available if you decide you need a breather. We have a great route set up, with the bridge in the first third and maybe a stop at Bucee's at just about the mid-point. Some high traffic roads, but most will have a rideable shoulder, some even a decent shoulder! Be aware, there will be some bad railroad tracks, so now is a good time to practice some bike handling before we get there.

Here is a page with some maps:

The turn at onto 2nd Street from Todville in Seabrook is there to get a clean, straight run at the bridge. You can continue on Todville and go under the bridge and then take a turning ramp on to it, which avoids the heavy traffic at the intersection with 146. The ramp is fine for our more powerful cyclists, and I would hope that eventually we'd only use that route. Let me know which way y'all think is best.

As usual, the pace is set by consensus. Don't worry if the bridge is intimidating or you think the pace may be too fast. Although we don't typically ride as a no-drop group, we don't let anyone ride alone.
