Cash Lake & Fire Road Trails, Patuxent Research Refuge, South Tract

Details
Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 11am. We'll combine several trails, including Cash Lake and Fire Road Trails. Length: 5.4 miles, time 3 hours (with lunch; bring your own). Should be an easy hike. Meet at 11am in the lobby of the visitor center at 10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop, Laurel, MD 20708-4036.
The website for Patuxent Research Refuge, South Tract, is here. The hike will be a loop so we'll end up back where we parked. Bring a light backpack with water and/or Gatorade, a sandwich and/or snacks, and a simple first aid kit. At about the halfway point, we'll have lunch at a covered pavilion. The pavilion is near the visitor center, so you may end your hike early there if you wish; we’ll be there after hiking about 90 minutes.
Our hikes are open to all - men and women, young and old. If you're under 18 you must be accompanied by an adult family member. Come solo or with friends and family, enjoy God's beautiful creation, and make new friends and connections. WE HIKE RAIN OR SHINE. IF IT'S RAINING (OR MAY RAIN) BRING YOUR HAT AND RAIN PONCHO.
For questions, contact Charles on this meetup site. We hope to see you there! If you have suggestions for hiking sites, please let us know!

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV).
A lovely hymn: O The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus by Indelible Grace.
