Gurney and Friends in Wartime
Details
Gurney, poet and musician, served in the First World War, writing the Ludlow and Teme song cycle in High Wycombe on his return. His life-long friend,Howells, dedicated his Piano Quartet to him and Finzi later collected and published his songs after his death.
