Fabulous and Fearless Women, 55 and up

Welcome, women over 55! Our theme is creating a more positive outlook and happiness in our lives!  We are a group of genuine, welcoming women who are growth-oriented and forever young in mind and spirit! We are a friendship group with NO business networking.

Membership is determined by adherence to the following Guidelines.

GUIDELINES

1. PHOTOS: If you would like to join our group, YOU MUST post a current photo of only yourself. We need to have this so we can identify and recognize you at an event. We will not approve your membership request without a current photo of only yourself, with nothing obstructing your beautiful face. This is a private group; members’ images are not available to the general public. Members who change their photo to a photo that does not meet the criteria after admission to the group shall be dropped from membership.
You must include your (real) name with your picture.
2. ATTENDANCE
a. When a new member is approved to join Fab55, she will have three months to attend an event. Any woman who has not participated in an event within the first three months of joining will be dropped from membership. Any woman who has not attended an event within the past year will be dropped from membership. Any member who has been dropped due to inactivity can rejoin the group at any time.
b. We sometimes have to limit the number of attendees to an event, which may result in a waitlist. If you are on a waitlist, please make sure your notification settings allow you to receive emails/updates, so that you will know if you have been moved up to attend.   Some of our hosts require you to provide your cell number when you RSVP-yes.  If you don't have the host's cell #  then they do not have yours, so be sure to provide it in the RSVP function to avoid being waitlisted.
c. Sending an RSVP for an event means you have committed to attending. Event organizers have invested considerable time planning an event for the rest of us to enjoy. It is rude to cancel at the last minute, or worse, not show up. Everyone has emergencies; that’s a fact of life. However, we are a group that depends on each other to keep our commitments. Members who don’t show up will be dropped from membership. Members who cancel their RSVP the day of the event – for whatever reason – three or more times within a three-month period will be dropped from membership. Reinstatement will not be automatic. Reinstatement will be by vote of event organizers.   
d. Waitlists: Meetup Plus members WILL NOT be allowed to jump the line to attend events. Our group doesn't work like that. The goal of our group is to make friends. If you are a Meetup Plus member and are automatically moved to the head of the line (which is outside our control), the event organizer will move you back to the waitlist.
3. CONDUCT: Everyone is welcome. There will be no political debates, no derogatory political speech, no proselytizing, no gossip, and no cliques. It is expected that everyone will be treated in a polite, civil manner. Members who cannot do this will be dropped. Exceptions to this rule are events that are clearly identified as political, such as marches, attending debates, etc. Even then, everyone is expected to respect one another's differing viewpoints and conduct themselves in ways that encourage civil discourse.
4. SAFETY: If anyone has a concern about another member’s safety or well-being, please talk to the member you are concerned about. If any member feels unsafe in the presence of another member, please contact the organizer and clearly articulate the safety concern. However, Fab55 does not undertake responsibility for anyone's safety, nor do we guarantee anyone’s safety.
