This month we have the Humble Sage team joining to tell us about games they have been developing over the past couple years. Following the talks, we will head to the pub for a few bevvies so stick around 'til the end for that!
First up, at 12pm- Gareth Haage will be talking about his experience in developing for their VR game Cast. He will talk you through how they have gone about building in VR, why everyone should look into build in VR, pitfalls of working in VR, and what the future holds for VR.
Gareth Haage is the Lead Game Designer at Humble Sage Games, and creator of what will hopefully be some of your favourite games. As part of Humble Sage Games he is aiming to bring back big industry to Australia. His goal is to get players to feel as if they are lost in another world so when people play his games, the real world disappears for a short time and players can have a truly different experience. Games that have inspired him are Skyrim and the Witcher 3 where it feels like there is a world beyond the game.
At 2pm, Mate Kvsevic will do an introduction to game design including level design, mechanic design and more. He will be giving tips on running a startup games studio from a production perspective looking at funding, events, and getting your game out there.
Mate Kvsevic is the general manager at Humble Sage Games and has always loved the rules and design behind the game more than the game itself. He studied at TAFE and from there went to QUT to grow his knowledge of Game Design and even designed a few games of his own. His biggest goal is to create and design a game that would be known around the world and now as part of a great team at Humble Sage Games, his chance to achieve this is closer than ever before.
