We’re back!
After taking a two-month break, our community Drum Circle meets again this Wednesday, Sept 2nd, 7 – 8:30 pm, at the Rotary Centre for the Arts in Kelowna.
I look forward to seeing familiar faces, and meeting new people who want to experience the friendly energy of group drumming.
For those who haven’t attended one of our drum circles, you will find we are a welcoming and supportive group who enjoy creating a space for spontaneous and creative drumming in a playful manner. No experience is required to join in, as drumming is quite accessible and I do provide drums for those who don’t have one.
We start with a short warm up, showing the basic high and low tone of the drum, while incorporating a simple rhythm(s). Then we become more spontaneous and create group rhythms the remainder of the evening.
If you have a Native Flute, Hand Pan, Didge etc., please bring it along and we will make space for you as this brings another dimension to the circle. Vocalizing and movement are also welcome.
As noted, I do supply drums for those who need one and there is also a suggested $10 drop-in fee.
