Join Us to Walk to and Around Beautiful Clark Lake Park in Kent

Details
From the Wilson Playfields we will walk 4 miles round trip: first along the road shoulder to Clark Lake Park and then along many of the varied trails within the park, including for the first time, we will be able to walk around the whole lake. Only the short road section is paved. The rest is crushed rock, compacted dirt and grass. Be sure to wear boots or sturdy shoes.
There are several short hills and depending on the recent weather it may be a little muddy in places. It is therefore unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users or for other wheeled devices. Younger children are welcome to join us but will need to be carried by parents if they get tired. At the park we will have two volunteer guides who lived as children on part of the property. They will share their memories and if available, the City of Kent’s plans to improve the park facilities.
Distance & Accessibility: It’s 4-mile round trip and there are no short cuts! Please don't join us if you think that 4 miles is more distance than you can manage at a moderate pace. We will need to keep together as the trail network in the park is complex and can be confusing. Please be ready to sign in and leave at 10 am. Bring family and friends and your well-behaved dog on a leash if you have one.
Where to find us: Look for a "KENT WALK HERE" Signboard by the entrance to Wilson Playfields off of 132nd Ave. SE.
Addt'l details: From SE 240th St. drive 1 mile east along 132nd St. SE crossing SE 248th St that’s the first intersection (has lights). Take the next right where you will see a blue sign with “Wilson Playfields” in white letters and the Zion Lutheran Church behind.
PARKING: Parking is free and available next to the meeting location.
Finding the Meetup Location: Find us on Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/3TVmWzqDuSL2
WEATHER: The walk is offered come rain or shine!
