From Lake Wilderness Park we will walk round Lake Wilderness in Maple Valley

Details

OUR WALK ROUTE: From the Beach House at Lake Wilderness we will walk north past the lodge and visit some of the arboretum trails including the Tribal Life Trail. Then we climb up a narrow trail to the Cedar to Green River Trail. We will take this broad trail southeast following the lake side to the south end of the lake. Descending some steps we will continue along Lake Wilderness Drive through a residential neighborhood west and then north to return to the park. We will complete our loop by following some trails back to the Beach House. This will give us a walk of just over 2.5 miles and 60 ft. elevation gain.

MEETUP LOCATION: Lake Wilderness Park, 22500 SE 248th St, Maple Valley, WA 98038.
Find us on Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/jQGoWVpbsPrbAo4WA
Look for our "KENT WALK HERE" Signboard at the main entrance to the park.
Just to clarify: when you reach Lake Wilderness Park off 224th Ave SE there are two entrances: The main one that is further south plus the entrance for the lodge that is several hundred yards to the north. Either entrance is fine. You will only pass the Arboretum on your left if you take the lodge entrance. If you follow the Google maps directions we found these take you into the park by the main entrance. Either way, the meeting place is the same.

DEPARTING ON-TIME: Meet at the Beach House just before 10 am, sign in and be ready to leave at 10 am.

RESTROOMS: There are restrooms at the Beach House.

TRAIL SURFACE: There will be a combination of paved and unpaved surfaces, steps and roadway to walk on.

LIMITED ACCESS: Unfortunately due to the trail surfaces and short hill sections this walk is not suitable for wheelchair users or for other wheeled devices. Children are welcome to join us, but they will need to be carried by parents if they get tired. Well-behaved dogs on a leash may also join us.

DIFFICULTY: It’s just over a 2.5 mile round trip with some short hills and there are no short cuts! Please don't join us if you think that 2.5 miles is more distance than you can manage at a moderate 2 mph pace. We will need to keep together as the trail network is complex and can be confusing.
