Fellowship INDY's Gay Men's Winter Cocktail Party/Dinner

Since 1977 Fellowship Indy hosts gay men's monthly dinners at members' homes or clubhouses. Our Motto is "Pleasant conversations with engaging people at interesting homes with fine food."

We believe in the Intentional Welcoming of new members; our new member officers are Blake Sawdey and Brian Crull. We started our outreach to Meetup several years ago, but now realize that we need to do more to encourage the men who make up this large database to come to our parties. Please try out this wonderful group; come to a party or two. The members are very nice. You will surely have a good time!

On January 31st, instead of a regular pitch-in, we will have our annual Winter Cocktail Party at The Benton House, a national historic landmark in Irvington. This is an informal party to share your best hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and wines —and non-alcoholic beverages, too. The character of the party is a little different from our regular pitch-ins. This is dinner, but it is “heavy hors d’oeuvres” and fancy desserts. It is time to leave your mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts recipes in the cookbook. Hot and cold finger foods are the order of the day. The dress is not formal, but rather winter-festive.

Another difference is that this is a time to share your favorite bottle of wine or champagne. [In the past, Fellowship has not had an accident, but the Benton House policy is not to drink red wine in rooms with historic rugs; so we need to be extra careful not to spill red wine.]

We are paying for the building rental, special food, and seasonal party supplies. This is above & beyond the annual Fellowship Indy budget. This is an ideal opportunity -- for those of us who have homes too small to host 30+ men at a regular pitch-in -- to be co-hosts of a big party. Please feel free to step forward with a little extra financial support. All donations, great & small, are appreciated and recognized only by name. If you like the group, then annual dues are really affordable at $20. This pays for all our operating expenses, but your real cost is in the time and money for preparing a dish.
